How do I sign up / register my school with the Eco-Schools Programme?
You can register as an Eco-School via this link. All you need to do is fill up the online form and get the school principal's approval and return the form to us via email. Once done, the school can start running the Eco-Schools Programme. 

Can a primary school join the Eco-Schools Programme?
All formal primary and secondary schools (public, private & international) are encouraged to join ESP. However, at the moment, we are unable to cater to tuition centres, home schools, private education centres, etc.

Who should I contact if I want to partner with the Eco-Schools Programme?

Which age group is suitable for the Eco-Schools Programme?
We encourage students from 7 to 17 years old in primary and secondary schools) to join the Eco-Schools Programme. However, form 6 students are welcome to run the programme as well. At the moment, we do not have resources for pre-schools to run the Eco-Schools Programme. However, you may adapt the Resource Pack and Starter Kit to suit your pre-school setting and even train your teachers.

Why do we need to register for this programme?WWF-Malaysia acts as the national operator for the Eco-Schools Programme under the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Every year, we need to update on the registration and also pay a membership fee to FEE. Besides that, registration from each school helps us store your data and monitor the school’s environmental projects. Furthermore, as a registered school, you will be given priority access to our events and training.

Is this programme endorsed by
Ministry of Education?

Yes. For your information, the implementation of this programme is supported by the National Eco-Schools Committee which includes the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Environment, Yayasan Anak Warisan Alam Malaysia, Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak, Sabah Environmental Education Network, University Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Global Environment Centre, Friends of Kota Damansara, Malaysian Nature Society, and Scout for Nature. What do I need to know before signing up for this programme?
This programme is run by the Foundation for Environmental Education, a non-government and non-profit organisation aiming to promote sustainable development through environmental education. WWF-Malaysia became an associate member of FEE in 2010 and the national operator for the Eco-Schools Programme in Malaysia. 

This programme consists of SEVEN STEPS METHODOLOGY, a standardised structure and flexible ten Eco-Themes to help schools manage environmental issues through a holistic, whole-school approach. The SEVEN STEPS involves a wide diversity of individuals from the school community, with students playing a primary role.

How many Eco-Schools are there in Malaysia?
More than 300 schools all over Malaysia are registered with the Eco-Schools Programme.

I am in university/college currently. How can I be part of this programme?
For university/college students, you can be part of this programme by joining our FEE EcoCampus Programme. FEE EcoCampus is an international award programme that guides all tertiary-level institutions on their sustainable journey, providing a simple framework to help make sustainability an integral part of campus life. Is there any payment required to run the programme?
There is no payment for schools to run the programme.
